Jeet Kune Do (JKD)
What is Jeet Kune Do?
Jeet Kune Do (截拳道), meaning “the way of the intercepting fist”, is a martial art and philosophy created by Bruce Lee in the 1960s. Unlike traditional styles, JKD emphasizes freedom, adaptability, and practicality, with the motto: “Absorb what is useful, discard what is not.”
JKD blends techniques from Wing Chun, boxing, fencing, and other arts, but it is less about fixed techniques and more about principles of efficiency, directness, and personal expression.
