What is Lethwei?
Lethwei is the traditional martial art of Myanmar (Burma), often called the “art of nine limbs.” Like Muay Thai, it uses punches, kicks, elbows, and knees — but also headbutts.
It is considered one of the most brutal striking arts.
Why Train Lethwei?
- Full-Contact Combat – no gloves, bare-knuckle style.
- Unique Strikes – includes headbutts.
- Toughness & Conditioning – extreme resilience.
- Cultural Heritage – deep roots in Myanmar.
- Rare in Europe – niche but growing.
How Does Lethwei Compare?
- Vs Muay Thai – similar, but Lethwei adds headbutts.
- Vs Kickboxing – Lethwei is less regulated.
- Vs MMA – MMA has grappling; Lethwei is pure striking.
